Who we are
UserDemos.com is operated by the business trading as UserDemos, based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described on this page. You can reach us at hello@userdemos.com.
The short version
- This website sets no advertising or analytics cookies.
- Demos embedded on other sites do not track the people who watch them.
- When you order a demo you give us a way to see your product. We use that access only to build the demo and delete it when we are done.
- We never sell personal data.
Data we collect and why
| Situation | Data | Purpose and legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| You email us | Your name, email address, company, and whatever you write | To reply and, if you order, to deliver the work. Legitimate interests, then contract. |
| You order a demo | Billing name and address, invoices, correspondence about the project | To fulfil and account for the order. Contract and legal obligation (tax records). |
| You give us product access | Login credentials, screenshots, design files, and any data visible inside your product | To rebuild your screens as a demo. Contract. See “Access to your product” below. |
| You visit this website | IP address, browser and request details in server logs | Security and keeping the site running. Legitimate interests. |
| Someone views an embedded demo | IP address and request details in server logs | Serving the files. Legitimate interests. Nothing is stored in the viewer’s browser by the player. |
Access to your product
To build a demo we usually need to see your product. We ask for a trial or staging account with sample data rather than a production account. If you give us access that shows real customer data, we treat everything we see as confidential, use it only to rebuild the screens, and do not copy real personal data into the demo. Demos are built from interface elements with invented sample content unless you supply the copy yourself.
We delete credentials you share with us when the project closes, and we recommend you revoke them on your side too.
Cookies and browser storage
This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics. The demo player may keep a small amount of data in the viewer’s browser, such as the muted or paused state, so the demo behaves consistently. That data never leaves the browser and identifies nobody.
Third parties we rely on
- Cloudflare hosts this site and every demo. Cloudflare sees the IP address of anyone requesting a page or demo file and keeps standard server logs.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces on this site. Your browser requests the font files from Google, which sees your IP address in the process. Demos embedded on your site do not load Google Fonts.
- Email and invoicing providers hold our correspondence and billing records.
- Voiceover artists or voice tools, where you order narration. The script is shared with them; nothing about your customers is.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep things
- Enquiries that do not become orders: 12 months, then deleted.
- Project files and correspondence: for as long as we host your demo, plus 12 months.
- Invoices and accounting records: 6 years, as UK tax law requires.
- Product credentials: until the project closes.
- Server logs: 30 days or less.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to confirm what personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or give you a copy. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email hello@userdemos.com and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Demos embedded on your website
When you embed a demo on your own website, you remain the controller for your visitors. Because the player sets no cookies and collects nothing beyond the server logs above, most sites will not need a consent banner for it. You may wish to mention UserDemos in your own privacy policy as a hosting provider.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters we will update the date at the top and, for current clients, let you know by email.
